How to run several Claude Code sessions at once
Give each session its own terminal and its own git worktree, so they never edit the same files, and keep one view of all of them that says which ones are working, which are done, and which are waiting on you. Diana does all three in one window.
The problem with doing it by hand
Two Claude Code sessions in the same folder edit the same files and trip over each other's changes. Separate folders fix that, but then you have five terminal tabs and no way to see, without clicking through each one, which agent is stuck on a question and which finished twenty minutes ago.
How to do it in Diana
- Open a terminal per agent. Diana is a real terminal with tabs. Run
claude, codexorgeminiin each, the way you already do. - Give each task its own worktree. Starting work from Diana (from a GitHub issue, or from a plain description) puts it in a fresh git worktree on its own branch, so parallel sessions never share a working copy.
- Watch them all in Tasks. Tasks shows every running agent side by side, beside the plan, marks the ones waiting on you, and lets you step into any of them.
- Answer in one place. When an agent wants to run something your rules hold, it appears in Waiting with Allow once and Deny. Nothing else interrupts you.
Racing one task across agents
You can also hand the same task to several agents at once, Claude Code against Codex for example, each in its own worktree, and keep the best result. Before anything starts, Diana shows what the race is likely to cost from your own past sessions.
What it does not do
Diana never merges anything. Each piece of work ends as a branch or a pull request that you review. Your sessions and code stay on your machine.
Questions
Can I run Claude Code and Codex side by side?
Yes. Each runs in its own terminal tab and, when started from Diana, its own git worktree. Tasks shows both at once.
Do parallel sessions conflict with each other?
Not when each has its own git worktree: every session works on its own copy and its own branch, and you merge what you keep.
Is Diana free?
Yes. It is free for macOS, Windows and Linux.
